JTM produces small quantities of other vegetables in three greenhouses whose purpose is to test new crops, cultivars and cultivation techniques. Development or improvement is a constant goal and JTM has benefited from finding cultivars that are suited to Guyana`s climate and environment, chosen equipment that withstand our conditions (e.g. utility power conditions) and created technology for our hydroponics farm using locally available materials that is affordable, simple to build and maintain … and works!
Such ongoing development has already been rewarded with a decrease in the use of resources (costs) and better yields – and the quality of the product is widely seen on supermarket shelves.
